In the last few years Mumbai's life support system for live music gigs has been Blue Frog and Hard Rock Cafe, while outdoor venues continue to face 10 p.m. noise law restrictions and various other bars and clubs are mired in legal issues with the municipality.
When Don Ward's The Comedy Store opened in Mumbai last summer we heard that their stage, with its specially designed acoustics and a state of the art pro-audio install, would be offered to musicians too, at some point.
